The iHeartRadio Music Awards is a music awards show that celebrates music heard throughout the year across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia's digital music platform.[2] Founded by iHeartRadio in 2014, the event recognizes the most popular artists and music over the past year. Winners are chosen per cumulative performance data, while the public is able to vote in several categories.[3] The inaugural event was held on May 1, 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Its first two years were broadcast live on NBC, from 2016 to 2018 it was simulcast on TBS, TNT and truTV.[4][5][6] The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will be held on March 14, 2019 at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles and broadcast live on Fox. Solána Imani Rowe (born November 8, 1989,[4] known professionally as SZA (/ˈsɪzÉ™/ SIZ-É™),[5] is an American singer and songwriter. Rowe was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, and later relocated to Maplewood, New Jersey.[2][6] In October 2012, SZA self-released her debut EP, See.SZA.Run, which she then followed up with her second EP, titled S, in April 2013. In July 2013, it was revealed that she had signed to the hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment, through which she released Z, her third EP and first retail release, in April 2014.[7]

SZA's debut studio album, Ctrl, was released on June 9, 2017, to universal acclaim from music critics.[8] It debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 and was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Miguel Jontel Pimentel (born October 23, 1985) is an American singer and songwriter. Raised in San Pedro, California, he began pursuing a music career at age thirteen. After signing to Jive Records in 2007, Miguel released his debut studio album, All I Want Is You, in November 2010. Although it was underpromoted upon its release, the album became a sleeper hit and helped Miguel garner commercial standing.[8][9]

After Jive's dissolution in 2011, he moved to RCA Records and released his second studio album, Kaleidoscope Dream in 2012 to critical acclaim. In June 2015, Miguel released his third studio album, Wildheart, which also received critical acclaim. In 2017, his fourth studio album War & Leisure was released to further acclaim. Miguel incorporates R&B, funk, hip hop, rock and electronic styles into his music, and has been compared to vocalists Babyface and Prince.
